Hong Kong boasts a superior geographical location and environment, hence the unique characteristics of Hong Kong's gardens and landscapes in terms of plant landscaping, garden architecture, and small design, both aesthetically pleasing and practical. In addition, Hong Kong is a melting pot of Eastern and Western cultures, and the construction of Chinese-style gardens and parks of various styles has also become a local characteristic. With the urban development and revitalization of old districts in recent years, local parks have been continuously optimized in terms of functionality, landscape, and ecology. The Hong Kong Central Library has specially selected a batch of materials related to Hong Kong's gardens and landscapes from the collections of the Literature Collection and Special Collections, so that readers can learn more about their development and characteristics.
